Who are Boromir and Denethor?

This particular fanlisting is for those who are fans of the relationship between Boromir and his father, Denethor, from Lord of the Rings.

I have been a LOTR fan since I was little. My stepfather bought me the complete box set of books [the LOTR trilogy & the Hobbit] and read me a chapter every night, until I was old enough to read it myself. I have always loved Boromir and I think the relationship between him and his father is extremely complicated.

Denethor sees Boromir as his savior--the one who will accomplish everything that he cannot. He loves his son but at times, that love -- and the demands that come with it -- weigh heavily on Boromir.

Boromir tries to be the perfect son, to make his father happy, but he worries that he will not be able to live up to the ideals.
